Leading State Sponsor Of Terror Attempts to Back Biden Into A Corner

We know the Biden Administration wants to get back into nuclear talks with Iran. Why President Biden thinks Iran can be trusted remains a mystery to us. But Iran just laid out what it would take just to get them to come back to the table, demanding $10 billion from the U.S. just to even begin negotiations about reentering the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) – the Iran nuclear deal.

How dangerous would another nuclear deal be with Iran for the U.S. and our ally Israel?

ACLJ Chief Counsel and my dad Jay Sekulow explained how the Biden Administration is going to move forward with this demand by Iran:

"They’ve already started posturing. Let’s be clear here, how they started posturing is that they said, well this isn’t really our assets anyways, this isn’t us giving our money. This is their money; we are simply releasing that money to them. Again, the Iranians know exactly how to play this, they have done this before over the last decade. No discussion of substance without cash. The JCPOA, as we know, meant nothing because the Iranians never stopped developing their nuclear capacity and now, they just want $10 billion to help them develop it even further. So I think this is again the Biden Administration full heartedly entering into this, and the ramifications are going to be really serious."

In President Biden’s speech to the United Nations on Iran specifically, he said:

"The U.S. remains committed to preventing Iran from gaining a nuclear weapon. We’re working with the P5+1 to engage Iran diplomatically and seek a return to JCPOA. We are prepared to return to full compliance if Iran does the same."

Does that just mean we are going to continue to send them money? That is what the Iran foreign minister apparently thinks. Iranian foreign minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian laid out what Iran expects of the U.S.:

"The United States would like to get back to the room, so it needs a ticket. And the ticket is being able to respond to the request of the P4+1 including Iran. There are important issues. One is removing all sanctions imposed, reimposed, or relabeled, or newly labeled by Trump. And also, to give a proper guarantee that there will be nobody in Washington to violate the deal."

We’re seeing the effects of a new Administration and their policies. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra is one of the most pro-abortion HHS secretaries that we’ve ever seen. And he’s already made progress in his agenda by shutting down investigations of the abortion industry and hospitals for violating conscience rights.

We’ve told you about our client, a nurse at the University of Vermont Medical Center, being tricked into performing an elective abortion procedure. The Trump Administration opened an investigation, not only for our client but for other nurses who experienced similar treatment. Then, when the Biden Administration took office, and Sec. Becerra was in charge, they shut down the investigation altogether.

ACLJ Senior Counsel Frank Manion joined Sekulow to give us an update on this case:

"It’s actually much worse than that. Not only did they open an investigation, they concluded the investigation with a Notice of Violation of civil rights issued to the University of Vermont. Then the Department of Justice . . . filed a lawsuit against the University of Vermont to vindicate not only our client’s rights but the rights of 10 other nurses at the hospital that were similarly violated. Two months ago, we were informed by the HHS office of civil rights that they were withdrawing the violation. Then after that, the Department of Justice dismissed their own case. So we're asking them today . . . to tell us how that investigation is going that you promised us. What we really need here is we need to get Xavier Becerra – the head of the HSS and the head of the office of civil rights – before a congressional committee to explain to the American people how a violation of civil rights in 2019 is no longer a violation of civil rights in 2021, and if there is anything to this more than the fact that the name at the top of the letterhead of HHS has changed."

We are getting to the bottom of why this investigation was shut down. We’ve sent a letter demanding answers from this Administration.

Today’s full Sekulow broadcast is complete with even more analysis of Iran’s demand of the U.S. and updates on our case protecting a nurse’s conscience rights.
