Salute to President Lincoln

Saw the sweetest moment today! A young family was shopping in Scheels and as they were walking by this display their young boy (about age 10) looked over at the statue of President Lincoln and saluted.

I was sitting on the bench next to the display and when I saw this, I couldn’t help but grin with pride at the boy. As he passed by, his gaze lowered to meet mine and In that moment he then realized that I had been watching the whole time, and saw what he did.

He instantly blushed but I could see him beaming as he walked away.

I am so grateful I was there to witness that moment, it was so touching.❤️
