20211003 Validation - The Daily Summation

You can rest assured I'm not whining when I tell you I had LITTLE TO NO validation as a child.

In fact, I kind of look at it as a beneficial thing.

Not only do I not MISS being validated but I realize I'm "in the driver's seat" when it comes to improving my life, or just plain doing better than yesterday.

I'm not bitter or upset at those who WERE validated either.

In fact, I kind of feel for them, since that almost INVARIABLY comes to an end.

To those who received a bunch of "attaboys" or "attagirls," and those conversely, who DIDN'T, remember, your worth is NOT tied to that fact.

In other words, it's not something I would concern myself with in the long run.

Remember this, you're in charge (largely), making yourself a better or worse person is mostly about YOUR CHOICE.

I'm not saying things will be easy, just that it's pretty much on you, how things go from here forward.

This edition of The Daily Summation from Kurt's Religion and Politics, talks about the subject of validation (and lack thereof) in a little more detail. Hope you enjoy.

When I'm able to complete the companion article on the Kurt's Religion ald Politics blog, I'll post a link to it here.
