Thoughts to Consider - Higher Meditation

How do you reach a state of higher meditation? Can you really tell when you reach total enlightenment?

Do you achieve higher consciousness when you are sitting on the floor cross-legged and chanting OM? Perhaps you reach a state of nirvana when you smoke marijuana, recite a mantra, listen to a guided meditation? Maybe it something else entirely?

Does being in a state of higher mediation require you to go to the remote mountains in India, China, or Tibet. Do you have to meet a Guru and practice meditation, breathing, and inner awareness?

Can you be in a state of higher mediation outside of all the traditional methods of meditation thought in the East?

Can you find a higher state by sitting and drinking a cup of tea? Is enlightenment found during conversations with friends, family, coworkers, mentors, or a life coach?

Can you find it by watching positive television programming, listening to podcasts, reading books, or blog articles?

I believe the answer to all the questions is, YES.

Which one is right for you? Everyone will find inner peace, happiness, stillness, and self-awareness in a way that is right for them. No one person will have the same journey.

Many people go out into nature, sit alone, go for a walk, or focus on their breathing. You will find many videos on YouTube which guide people in meditation.

One thing you have to do is be mindful of your surroundings. Enjoy the ever-changing beauty that is around you. You do not have to close your eyes to find enlightenment.

Nature is a great teacher. In nature, we have to open our 5 senses to really experience life around us.

If you believe the old truth, that mediation only happens in a closed room where you have to sit cross-legged, with our eyes closed, breathing in and out, you might be missing out on important things happening around you.

The state of enlightenment is all around us. We have to look within our self to notice what we cannot see.
