What Faith Charities Give To Canadian Communities

One of the things that many of our viewers factored into their voting decision for the recent federal election was the part of the Liberal policy platform which stated that, if elected, they would defund crisis pregnancy centres (also known as Pregnancy Care Centres).

Crisis Pregnancy Centres provide vital support such as free baby supplies, emotional support, and in some cases, even provide safe housing for women in need. The Liberal policy announcement was a bold move in what has become an ongoing conversation about how much power ruling political parties should have to impose their ideologies on faith-based organizations, whether churches, mosques, synagogues, or community service organizations such as pregnancy care centres.

In light of this, we are re-airing an insightful interview with Rev. John Pellowe from the Canadian Centre for Christian Charities with our guest host Jodie Jenkins. In this interview, Rev. Pellowe unpacks some of the research around the benefits that charities bring to communities nationwide.
