20210927 Empirical and Anecdotal - The Daily Summation

It appears from what I can see, that empirical DOES NOT mean what I thought it did (either that, or I'm misunderstanding).

Nonetheless, there's a SERIOUS DIFFERENCE between anecdotal evidence, and well managed, properly conducted, large scientific studies.

Am I say anecdotal evidence is meaningless?

Not at all.

It's generally useful when looking at things on a VERY SMALL SCALE and in very localized situations.

If you want the "big picture, " you MUST do large scale studies, using acceptable techniques.
