Why does God speak to us in these strange ways?

Everything in the Word of god is purposeful, everything has a reason, Everything points to the purposes of God, Everything reveals and shows us more about who He is, but it also tells us about the coming messiah

What kind of man he would be, it's a foreshadowing , a type of what we would be seeing in the Messiah. No one man in the Bible, in the Old Testament, could possibly be the fullness of who Christ is , but in all these different men and women who were great in the Old Testament all of them are bits and pieces, composites, little aspects of who our Great King is : Jesus Christ

So in this one man that we are going to be looking at today, Shammah, we are going to discover some truths about our Messiah

David’s Mighty Men
8 These are the names of the mighty men whom David had: [a]Josheb-Basshebeth the Tachmonite, chief among [b]the captains. He was called Adino the Eznite, because he had killed eight hundred men at one time. 9 And after him was Eleazar the son of [c]Dodo, the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David when they defied the Philistines who were gathered there for battle, and the men of Israel had retreated. 10 He arose and attacked the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand stuck to the sword. The Lord brought about a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to plunder. 11 And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. The Philistines had gathered together into a troop where there was a piece of ground full of lentils. So the people fled from the Philistines. 12 But he stationed himself in the middle of the field, defended it, and killed the Philistines. So the Lord brought about a great victory.
