"The last few days have been hard. Over 6 months out and I am still suffering with migraines, difficulty walking, tremors, convulsions, blurred vision, I can not drive, I can not read, i can not properly hold a pen. I can not practice the medicine that I love. I am supported by my friends and held by my community. I hold deep gratitude to them. This video captures deeply vulnerable moments with my friend who has fought for me along the way. I have not watched it. I can’t. She has spent endless hours filling out forms, reading my emails, rubbing my back, taking care of my children, and advocating for me every spare second. A task that is exhausting. She has suffered by my side and been a rock in my life for 19 years. This video is from a two day episode I am just coming out of. I could not speak, my face was going slack, my body cycled between constant convulsions, spasms and tremors. I was terrified. Instead of being given appropriate medical care I was offered Valium and a speech on vaccine efficacy. This was a breaking point of poor medical care. Some days crush you. But you get back up. Yesterday was a different story. We got a doctor that listened. Although she did not have a solution she offered compassion, support, intrigue and treatment. I am in gratitude for every compassionate doctor and nurse and practitioner that I have encountered on this journey. We need our medical community to speak up and try to figure out what is going on with us. I need to get my voice heard. Justin Trudeau are you listening?"
