Gender Fluidity Lessons for First Graders?

In "Sea Horse, The Shyest Fish in Sea," first graders learn the mating positions of the Sea Horse, how Sea Horses give birth and the fact that it's the male who actually gives birth. The lesson includes this quote: "We humans tend to think of who we are as mostly fixed, but in the ocean, identity can be a fluid and mysterious thing." Really?
