More than gold, I think commodities will be the new currency in an SHTF situation. You cannot eat, drink or smoke gold. I think it will go back to two chickens for a duck. Since the big liquor companies will not be producing and bathtub gin tastes like the last guy who washed himself, bottled liquor will be valuable. Preppers need to start stocking up on small bottles now, even if they do not drink.
