South African Airways (SAA) is back in the air with Re-Launch

South African Airways resumed commercial flights today, nearly 19 months since it ceased passenger service in early 2020. While SAA is back in the air (between Jo'Burg and Cape Town anyway), the future remains less than rosy. The airline has no cash, few staff and only eight aged planes. Plus it is awaiting a private sector "buyout" for a 51% equity stake. The problem is the Takatso consortium is getting that share for a song and there is no indication if or when that will ever take place.
