Colorado gold rush of 1859 Central City and Black Hawk
On May 6, 1859 John H Gregory discovered the first gold lode in Colorado here before it was a state or a territory. The video is from up above Central City and starts off towards Black Hawk. The tan dirt is actually mine tailings left behind. The big blue building is the Grand Z Hotel and Casino. About 40 miles from Denver it's a must stop. Rich in history and now home to many casinos, victorian homes, hiking trails and different types of art.
