Why does the Bitcoin standard work? Why is Bitcoin the best monetary system? How does it succeed in reality?

First, inflation, which destroys fiat currencies and gold, doesn't exist in Bitcoin. You've got a coin, a conservative system, and a mathematically complete system. Bitcoin is a conservative and thermodynamic system that doesn't add additional energy to the system nor does it deplete energy in the state. And the basis of that conservation is the base layer protocol and the proof of work.

The second attribute of Bitcoin is the difficulty of confiscation. The private keys of cryptography have the strongest property rights in the history of the human race. So, the only property you can own is a digital property on a secure crypto asset network, which is Bitcoin.

Right now, what you've got is one successful digitally engineered property that gives you a scientific basis for property rights. But if you have a million dollars, and you convert it into a building, the building can be seized by the mayor. Likewise, you can't move the building. So, it's an impaired property, which can also be taxed. Besides, the building had a physical nexus, meaning it could collapse.

Moreover, the useful life of the building is 100 years or less. So, it's only appealing to people in that geopolitical nexus. If the building is in North Korea, it isn't valuable to those in New York City. Apart from that, a block in Manhattan is a lot more valuable than a block in the middle of the desert. The property that is situated in an economically viable location can be impaired and taxed. You also spend money on maintenance.

So, why is Bitcoin going to succeed, and why is it succeeding? Hypothecation is so difficult is because layer one and layer two protocols mitigate the need for hypothecation. Right now, all your assets and stocks are in a bank, and you don't own any of them. But Bitcoin succeeds because the base layer protocols are mathematically sound and secure. The application-level layer is also sound and opens to upgrading.
