I Wish I Was Bluepilled Again

What do Nazis and dance music have in common? You're about to find out in my latest monthly original song, “I Wish I Was Bluepilled Again.”

I’m sure most of you have seen these terms used across the net by now, but for my purposes “Bluepilled” refers to blissful ignorance, and “Redpilled” refers to disturbing awareness. One of the most disturbing things I’ve realized over the years is that most of us (you, me, our loved ones, our idols) will readily side with an oppressive authority when given the choice. I wanted to express this understanding with my latest song and video.

The video is a slow and steady contemplation of August Landmesser, a German shipyard worker who was photographed refusing to give the Nazi salute with fellow workers in 1936. Most people will view this image and sympathize with Mr. Landmesser, and may even fantasize that they could have been him. The unfortunate truth is that most of us would have been offended by his crossed arms, and wished him ill, had our personalities been present in that time and place.

“I Wish I Was Bluepilled Again” is one of the catchiest songs I’ve put out yet, so here’s fair warning that you’ll be singing the hook to yourself all week. When you do so, please think about my message, please share the song and get the conversation going. You can contribute to bringing some perspective and humility to a world of increasing division, absolutism, and wishes of death for those who merely disagree with us.
