DECLINED THE RIGHT TO VOTE

I went to my local voting station today. I was declined my right to vote at my polling station, down the street from my home because I am mask-excempt. When asked “Where can I vote then?” I was told I need to go to the other side of town to Elections Canada head office and talk to them about it.

My significant other and some neighbours went with me. They were wearing masks. My significant other spoke with the Elections Canada volunteer, in the attached video, once I left the building, she announced to the other volunteers “No Mask, No Vote”. He called her out about how she is wrong. She continued to elaborate how she is very scared. She has a lung condition and is currently on a list for transplant. I really feel this is extremely odd for someone who is that ill, in the middle of a fourth wave, volunteer to work for Elections Canada. And to boot, we know who she’s voting for.

***EDIT: I was not stopped from not wearing a mask until I was at the area where I sign in. I spoke with 3 volunteers, entered the lobby, sanitized, went through a door to a stairwell, up 4 flights and down a hallway into a room where the voting takes place. Once there I was told I may be turned away and then I was. By logic, if it was that much of a risk and not against my consitiutional right, wouldn’t they have turned me away at the first door?
