Jesus Ain’t Calling, not even at Christmas - Avoid Jesus Calling Christmas by Sarah Young

Welcome to our new series of resource reviews! We hope you enjoy it. With Christmas coming up, we decided to review the children’s book Jesus Calling Christmas by Sarah Young. Courtney explains why it is a book you should mark and avoid and get rid of if you have it!

For a quick overview of why you shouldn’t be reading any of Sarah Young’s Jesus Calling books:

She believes she is hearing Jesus speak directly to her in divine personal revelation. We don’t hear God audibly speak. Anyone in the Bible who did was terrified! And when God did speak directly to people it was for His glory and for His word to be proclaimed, not for personal heart to heart therapy revelation.

She claims to speak for Christ. She writes in the 1st person (lots of me and I language) which if true would mean it is Scripture, but the Bible tells us not to add to or take away from the Bible. She is essentially adding to the Bible.

She practices something very similar to the occult practice of automatic writing to receive these revelations. Not sure who or what she talking to, but we can be sure it ain’t Jesus.

We know God doesn’t change or lie, so why would the book need editing to continue adding to revelations Jesus gave her in the past?

To sum up, don’t purchase this as a Christmas present, and if you have any Sarah Young or Jesus Calling books, dispose of them (do NOT donate them).
