Polar Bear-Mother's Love

The polar bear (Ursus maritimus) is a carnivorous bear native to the Arctic Circle and the Arctic Ocean, as well as the oceans and landmasses surrounding it. It is the world's largest bear and land carnivore. If you're talking about an adult male, a boar weighs between 350 and 700 kg (1,540–2,050 lb), while an adult female sow is half that size. Even though it is a close relative of the brown bear, the polar bear has evolved to fit into a much smaller ecological niche, with a body well-suited to the cold and capable of traversing snow, ice and open water, as well as hunting seals, which account for the vast majority of its diet.Despite the fact that the vast majority of polar bears are born on land, they spend the most of their lives on the sea ice. They got their scientific name, which translates to "maritime bear," because of this. Sea ice provides the polar bears with their main source of food, which is seals. When the sea ice is absent, the bears must rely on fat reserves to survive. It is thought to as an aquatic animal because of their relationship with the sea ice that they depend on for survival.
