Are We A Dead Church?
(James 1:22-24)
'But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. '

I. If We Forget Who We Are (Exodus 19:5-6)
• Good Morning! I’m glat that you are here withb us today.
• We are looking into the other side of the conversation.
• We are looking at the things that make us a church that is dead.
• One of these characteristics is when you forget who we are.
• In our text today, we see that James is telling us one of the major trademarks of a dead church.
• Expound on verse 23.
• Read (Exodus 19:5-6).
• We are called to heed the commands and laws of the Master. When we are not doing what we are called to do, we are fooling ourselves.

II. If We Disregard Instruction! (Proverbs 1:7)
• As we continue to look into our text for today, we learn of more dangers that are ahead.
• In Acts 2:42, a very important sentiment is relayed regarding the way that the people responded to situations.
• Expound on why this is problematic.
• Disregard for properly searching and applying God’s Word leads to people growing apathetic to the Word.

III. So How Do We Change? (Romans 12:2)
• As we come to the close of this text we see one of the final keys to the situation.
• If we do not want to resemble this then we need to truly listen to what the Apostle Paul says in Romans 12:2
• Choose Jesus Today!
