NOT OF THIS EARTH 1957 Directed by Roger Corman. An alien agent from the planet Davana is sent to Earth via a matter transporter. He terrorizes a small town in an attempt to acquire blood for his dying race, the result of a devastating nuclear war.

This is my favorite of Corman's 1950s "B" Sci Fi movies due to the bizarre premise, Paul Birch's superb rendition of the alien, and the scary "umbrella" monster. (Subscribe to this channel as some videos are not monetized and/or not searchable)
