Ric Flair and Tommy Dreamer CANCELLED Over Vice's Latest Smear Piece

Vice are noted dishonest journalists. Their most popular and profitable property at the moment is "Dark Side of the Ring". Over the course of Three Seasons, they have told the stories that are tragic in the world of Professional Wrestling and sometimes rediscover old topics that dig up old wounds.

The most recent episode on the "Plane Ride From Hell" details Brock Lesnar and "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig shoot fighting at 30,000 and trying to push each other through the fuselage of a plane that is harboring dozens of intoxicated 'Sports Entertainers' across the Atlantic Ocean among other things. Dustin Rhodes serenading his ex-wife over the PA system, Sean "X-Pac" Waltman cutting the mullet of Michael "P.S." Hayes and Scott Hall getting drugged into oblivion.

For the WWF European Tour in 2002, the Fed used SportJet's charter service to serve as the transportation during their stay. The plane ride back from the final event, "WWF InsurreXtion", to land for Monday Night Raw in the States is what is known to many as the titular flight.

Many other events took place on the flight and many more people had been on that plane, but two people bore the brunt of the reemergence of this event on Vice's Smear Piece: Ric Flair and Tommy Dreamer.

Ric Flair is not known as being an upstanding person, but he hasn't been know to do what Heidi Doyle is alleging he did during said flight. The attendant claimed to go through quite a lot servicing the flight. All of her accusations may be true, but there were no charges filed, only a Civil Suit (that she was convinced to join by the way) 2 years after the event occured.

Thanks to the airing of this episode, Tommy Dreamer has been indefinately suspended by Impact Wrestling, to whom he is on the Creative Team and occasionally wrestles for. His crime? Saying he hasn't heard of Ric Flair acting like that before and that the shennigans on the plane were fairly normal for the time. Very spicy...

Ric Flair meanwhile, has his national ad campaign 'paused' due to allegations that had been dealt with 19/17 years ago when this happened and when the lawsuit was settled out of court.

Vice didn't draw a dime on this episode. The lowest viewership totals in series history and the lowest 18-49 demographic number in awhile. Nobody likes or trusts Vice to do the right thing and tell an honest story. That skepticism was fully rewarded by what has happened to Flair and Dreamer.
