The shoebill stork is a very large bird

The shoebill is an unusual creature, as if from ancient times, striking with its mysterious appearance.  The shoebill resembles a descendant of a dinosaur or an alien inhabitant.  The size of the African inhabitant is impressive: height approximately 1,2-1,5 m, body length reaches 1,4 m, weight of an individual of 9-15 kg, width of wings in the straightened look 2,3 m. The big head and a huge beak similar to a ladle  , absolutely not proportional to the size of the body - they are almost the same width.
