Tantri, who has distinctive and husky vocals, has idolized two rock singers, Anggun C. Sasmi and Nicky Astria, since she was a child.[2] In 2008, Tantri became the vocalist of the outgoing Box Pare. Tantri previously started her music with the music group Ares from Jakarta, which was one of the finalists in a band event organized by a private television station, The Dream Band in 2004. Tantri's name soared after becoming the vocalist of the musical group Kotak. Tantri and Kotak hit the Indonesian music scene with modern and gothic rock music in slightly different nuances.
