Suspect died after Negations

Anaheim police Sunday were attempting to negotiate the surrender of a barricaded man in an apartment building.

The drama began about 6:15 p.m. Sunday at the Carlyle Courtyard, at 2630 W. Lincoln Ave., Anaheim police Sgt. Shane Carringer told local videographers

Carringer said a report came into the fire department about a fire and explosion at that apartment complex. When firefighters arrived, a resident said an armed man was in one of the units. Firefighters backed off and called police.

Police were negotiating with the man to surrender as of 2247hrs

Carringer said he did not know why the man armed and barricaded himself.

The suspect was taking to a nearby hospital where he died the next day
