On Tuesday, September 14, 2021, U.S. Senator Josh Hawley while making an address on the U.S. Senate floor, officially called for the resignation of Joe Biden, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Secretary of State Antony Blinkin, and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.

In regard to the latter three specifically, Senator Hawley vowed that until Austin, Blinkin, and Sullivan do resign, he will not consent to any of Biden's pending nominations to the Department of Defense or to the State Department. Such nominations require unanimous consent from the United States Senate in order to be approved, which means that until these resignations take place, there will be no more Biden nominees approved for either of those government institutions.

This is a very significant development regarding the Biden administration and their mishandling and mismanagement of the United States Military's withdrawal from Afghanistan.
