Fully grown male giraffes can stand up to 19 ft. tall and weigh over 2,600 lbs. The female is about 20% shorter and lighter. For the most part, giraffes live in grasslands and woodlands on reserves in East Africa. Their food sources include leaves, fruits, and flowers from plants and trees that other herbivores can’t reach. The giraffe doesn’t sleep or drink much and has a unique coat of irregular brown patches. They are surefooted, hardworking, and love to engage themselves in projects. Besides body language, the giraffe communicates through low frequency whistling, humming, and grunting sounds. As the world’s tallest animal, their long neck and legs allows them to see far and wide. Giraffes are friendly, kind, and optimistic. They love to travel, seek adventure, and share their experiences. Giraffes are graceful and have very strong ties to their family.
