Lorde releases debut te reo Maori album.
Lorde has released a five-track EP in te reo Maori, comprising hits from her Solar Power album.
The EP, titled Te Ao Marama, is a collaboration between Sir Timoti Karetu, Dame Hinewehi Mohi, Hana Mereraiha and Hemi Kelly.
The five songs to be translated for Te Ao Marama are Solar Power, The Path, Stoned at the Nail Salon, Oceanic Feeling, and Fallen Fruit.

They’re released as Te Ao Marama, Te Ara, Mata Kohore, Hine-i-te-Awatea, and Hua Pirau.
Lorde shared the EP on Thursday afternoon.
Her Solar Power album had been focused on the environment, Lorde said, and she felt it was appropriate to translate the album into te reo in acknowledgement of principles such as kaitiakitnaga.
Lorde has released an EP in te reo Maori.
“Many things revealed themselves slowly to me while I was making this album, but the main realisation by far was that much of my value system around caring for and listening to the natural world comes from traditional Maori principles.
