This is my new track which I did for the Production Analysis module at Point Blank Music School , I had to blend at least 2 genres and provide references and my creative process. I was inspired by 2 of my current favorite tracks from Daniel Deluxe's Intruments of Retribution album. As for the Bass House part I just used some swing in the Hi Hats , which helped getting that House style. Also alternating with the 4 on the floor beat and the kicks on 1 & 3 and snare on 2 & 4 , which brought contrast in the different parts of the song. I've used a few uplifter samples but I made a Synth patch with Waves Element with some automation for the pre-chorus Riser. I've used a MemoryMode (Cherry Audio's Memory Moog remake) synth patch which I've put some filters on and automated the change of filters during the different parts of the track , on some parts it feels a little like Space Rock, I did use a Hawkwind track as reference , which I used to love the Meads of Asphodel's cover of that track ! My bass was inspired from one the Synthwave tracks I've used as reference , although I made it slower , with some Sub Synth on it to make the Bass very heavy , the overall tone is shaped with a combination of distortions I've used in 2 different return tracks. I've used the AMEK Console from Brainworx on some key tracks in that project , mono-ing the Bass at 200hz to get more definition. This was kinda a challenging track to mix , I'm very happy with how it sounds , I did need to send a different version for my actual assignment where I changed a few plugins , mostly those on the Master track and my only Group track , where I've replaced with Ableton stock plugins and free plugins, just so that the lecturer can properly listen to my track if he doesn't own the plugins I have in the project.
