Oxford University professor Sunetra Gupta claims the UK government plan to impose a full vaccination mandate on frontline health workers has no logic - because it doesn't stop the spread of COVID-19.

“If you think of the logic of it, what’s the point of requiring a vaccine to protect others if that vaccine does not prevent onward transmission?”

There are other implications to this as well. Because of the inability to durably prevent transmission; the descendants of all circulating variants will inevitably become fully vaccine-resistant. This is simply because the ones that spread well in the vaccinated will dominate, and the ones that cannot spread among the vaccinated will begin to go extinct.
