How to find all the Factors of a Counting Number | Find the Factors of 72 | Minute Math
In this video we learn how to find all the factors of a counting number. We find all the factors of 72.
The steps to find all the factors of a counting number are:
1) Divide the number by each of the counting numbers, in order, until the quotient is smaller than the divisor.
1a) If the quotient is a counting number, the divisor and quotient are a pair of factors.
1b) If the quotient is not a counting number, the divisor is not a factor.
2) List all the factor pairs.
3) Write all the factors in order from smallest to largest.
