Little League World Series

I am for abolishing the Little League World Series. How can I be so mean attacking something as seemingly wholesome and American as mom's apple pie? Below the surface though there is much dysfunction. The young boys who play in the Little League World Series are ten to twelve years in age. All of the sudden they are thrust into the national spotlight and are playing baseball in front of packed stands(Although this year the stands were largely empty because of the China virus.) and the games are being broadcast nationally on ESPN with millions watching. Are these young boys really having fun or are they terrified about making errors or striking out in front of so many? I say the latter.
And then they see their parents and so many others so getting into the games and the whole scene and wonder what it's really all about. Do they think this is what they have to do to get the love of their parents? What do they think when they see their parents so excited about them being in the Little League World Series? It's no doubt very confusing for them.
And so many benefit financially from the Little League World Series, including ESPN, the economy of Williamsport Pennsylvania where it is held and many others. These young boys are being used by so many for so many motives.
I say these young boys would be much happier playing pick up games back in their home towns on local fields or playgrounds or their backyards. Again, adults are treating children as little adults instead of children, which harms the children. It's all too much too soon. The Little League World Series is largely about adults and much less about the young boys. It should be abolished.
