LAKEWOOD, CO — Almost an Accident 2021.09.08

In Lakewood a guy pulled out right in front of me as came by, I was in the opposite direction of the sun, it was a long straight road so I was clearly visible. I had to slam the brakes. If you see someone inching out, get your foot ready. If that was a road with a higher speed limit I might not have been able to stop. Now I just need a higher quality dash cam. The US has the highest road fatality rate per capita in the developed world by a lot, and Colorado is about tied with the US, certain cities I suspect are even higher, but I don't have data for that. The US ranks 72nd least per capita. The US is 6x higher than icy Sweden, 4x higher than rainy UK, 3x higher than top speed Germany. The US is more comparable to Egypt, Uruguay, Russia, Bangladesh, etc. The US has so much less education, training, testing, requirements, regulations, safety checks, etc than Europe. In many cases driver's ed isn't even required here. Americans think safety regulations are a violation of rights but you don't have rights when you're dead.

Six months ago a lady went too far past the stop sign ahead of me, so she backed up fast and hit me. She cracked my grill up but I didn't have a dash cam yet so that's part of why I got one. You especially need one here. The other reason is because people break into my car.
Remember, look both ways before you cross the street, duh.
