SUN Disappeared - Day became Night. SEVERE Sandstorm hits Aïn El Hadjel, M'sila, Algeria

The sun disappears - Day becomes night. A sandstorm hits Aïn El Hadjel, M'sila, Algeria

A huge dust storm hits An El Hadjel, M'sila province. The storm was caused by strong and strong southwest winds. A weather station, near the city, recorded winds of 60 km/h (37 mph) and gusts of 90 km/h (56 mph). Even though it was midday, the sky was not visible because it was completely covered by clouds.

The winds blew harder and things got darker as a terrifying desert storm covered the city, blocking out the sun. Eventually, day turned to night and all that could be seen were the lights in the houses and cars. The Sahara Desert often experiences colossal dust storms when sand from the desert is swept away by strong winds.

Sand can travel great distances and has been known to reach the UK, blanketing cars and causing what is called a “blood rain” – when the particles mix with water droplets, leaving a rusty brown coating upon evaporation. A health official said hospitals were on high alert and ready to deal with emergency cases caused by the dust storm currently ravaging the country.
