Put the vehicle on ramps ("blocks" in the video), open hood, remove oil cap. Below vehicle, place oil collection pan, remove oil drain plug with 16mm socket, and 3/8 drive ratchet with extension (demonstrated due to difficult drain plug). Drain oil into drain pan for several minutes until it stops, or nearly stops dripping. During this time you can put a small amount of clean oil in to clean out old oil caught in tight spaces. Remove oil filter with oil filter tool. Once removed, check area for remnants of old gasket and clean area with clean rag. Put small amount of oil on new oil filter, and replace with hand pressure. Replace oil drain plug, and clean area so that you can identify leaks as you drive test. Start putting in fresh oil, and occasionally check dipstick to ensure proper volume of oil is in engine. Replace engine oil cap, and clear out all tools, and equipment from under the hood. Then remove everything from under vehicle. Close hood. Remove blocks from back of tires, turn on engine, and drive off ramps.

Test drive your vehicle with fresh oil, and take note of the sound, and performance difference. This will help you identify when a vehicle is running sluggish in the future. Also take short trips to check the oil, ensure there aren't any leaks in the oil gasket, or under the vehicle. After you've ensured there are no leaks, then you can test it on the freeway.
