2007 Ford Focus AC Recharge
Recharge the Air Conditioning in a 2007 Ford Focus using a cheap recharge kit.
You will need:
T30 Torx bit
Quarter inch drive ratchet
5/16" socket (bring the whole kit anyway just in case)
Flat head screwdriver
AC Recharge kit with gauge, and full can of R134A coolant
Turn wheels as far right as possible to allow access to AC reservoir.
You don't need to remove every screw under the wheel well, just the 2 shown in the video. Pull back the plastic with a flat head (pan head) screwdriver. You can prevent damaging the paint if you start at the insertion point shown in the video. I switched screwdrivers during the video in case you didn't notice. You can pull back the plastic far enough so that the wheel holds it in place giving you access to the AC reservoir. Remove the green/blue (don't forget to put it back on when you're done).
Turn on your vehicle, and turn on maximum AC mode with circulation. This will engage the AC compressor. Connect the AC recharge hose by pulling up on the retention ring, then lower the opening onto the AC reservoir. Pull the trigger to let refrigerant flow into your system, check the gauge to ensure you aren't over filling the system which can lead to problems or destroy your system. I put about half a can into this vehicle when it probably could've used a full can, just playing it safe. And if I want to add more later, I can easily.
Remove the AC recharge system, replace the green/blue cap, turn off the vehicle, close up the plastic, and fasten all screws. Job complete. Finish your beer.
