PANJSHIR VALLEY FIGHTERS SET TO SAVE AFGHANISTAN FROM THE TALIBAN

Our video today on The BrandBazaar Reel will be a focus on the new ray of hope shining on the Afghan state which might save it from total anarchy by the Talibans.

Following fresh fighting in Afghanistan's Panjshir Valley between the Taliban and the valley's resistance fighters, the whole stage of recent events have taken a totally new turn as it has unsat the drive for the hardline islamists to finalize moves of instituting a new government in Afghanistan.

From the intensity of the fighting going on in the valley region, it's evident that the Taliban are bent on snuffing out any form of resistance before declaring it's new leader. It will interest you to know that the Panjshir valley region held out for nearly a decade against the Soviet Union’s occupation and also the Taliban’s first rule from 1996-2001, and true to fact the valley fighters are stubbornly holding out.

Fighters from the National Resistance Front (NRF) — made up of anti-Taliban militia and former Afghan security forces - are understood to have stockpiled a significant armoury in the valley, around 80 kilometres (50 miles) north of Kabul and guarded by a narrow gorge.

It will also interest you to know that the real reason behind the Taliban's delay in naming it's new government, is a combination of factors which include the fact that the Taliban themselves have been stunned by their military success; secondly, if they get Panjshir before the government is formed it is good for their propaganda value.

The United Nations has already restarted humanitarian flights to parts of Afghanistan, while the country’s flag carrier Ariana Afghan Airlines has also resumed domestic trips; the United Arab Emirates sent a plane carrying - urgent medical and food aid. Western Union and Moneygram, meanwhile, said they were restarting cash transfers, which many Afghans rely on from relatives abroad to survive. China has already confirmed it will keep its embassy in Kabul open, although the Americans have officially taken flight. With all these in sight it won't be out of place to say that hope is in sight as the valley fighters have sworn to seize power from the Talibans come what may.
