This brilliant composition by Christopher Cross, was from his first album, and this song is as popular today as it was back then...and this is because both the Lyrics and the Music impact urgency upon us, calling us to get UP and RISE before it is too late...

The overall theme to this song relates to Doing the Work to eliminate the Ego of the Left Brain, and we all have "A Long Way to Go to Make it to the Border of Mexico"...the Border of Mexico is the Horizontal Divide of the Brain, CROSSING over from the Left to the Right, which is Heaven Upon Earth...and the biggest work we all have to do, is (as Jesus Christ so importantly taught us) to TAKE NO THOUGHT FOR OUR LIVES...because the Thinking part of the Brain is the Left Hemisphere, which is ruled by the Ego; thus, when we think for ourselves, we are literally GODLESS, because God does not exist in the Left Brain, ONLY the Right Hand side...
