JR Gabuya ARKM Hong Kong Finite Fest Finite Fam

In this episode, Channa Channa Channa Talks to JR Gabuya Guitarist, Composer, and Founder of ARKM from Hong Kong. Channa saw ARKM perform live in Manila at the Finite Fam’s first-ever Finite Fest. Channa got connected with JR shortly after the gig and has been friends ever since.

JR was born in Hong Kong to Filipino parents who lived his whole life in the city-state. He discusses growing up in Hong Kong, listening to his Dad’s music, starting as a drummer and moving to play guitar. JR played in legendary Hong Kong band Shepards The Weak for several years and also formed Black Night Red Sky prior to settling with ARKM.

ARKM named after the famous Batman game Arkham Asylum since formed in 2018 has played several shows, written multiple songs. They bring Progressive Technical music with extreme Hardcore which blew the crowds in every show.

Aside from making cool Experimental Metal music, JR is also a Muay Thai Fighter under JUMP HK.
