New Zealand 'extremist' inspired by Islamic State: Ardern

A "violent extremist" was shot dead after injuring at least six in a mall in New Zealand, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said. The attacker is said to be a Sri Lankan national who had been in New Zealand since 2011, was inspired by the Islamic State militant group and was being "monitored constantly", Ardern said.
