I've been working on this for the last 3 days. It was frustrating the heck outta me.
I had an idea to do an abstract heart and background, in red and blue. I had seen a painting in the behind someone I was listening to on youtube, and wanted to do something similar. But with a broken toyland twist. That one looks nothing like this. But I repainted it 5 times! lol. It was driving me nuts. I was ready to put it aside for another time, and then I came across something in my facebook memories this morning... an old short story I had written on this date, 2010. I haven't seen that in years and always liked it. So I reworked it a little, and decided it was going in the painting. I had a full visual idea of what I now wanted to do. And did. This is it.
Here's the story:

if i were a tree...
If I were a tree, I'd be one of those old silhouette trees you see in haunted places. Like in a graveyard or on a hilltop, overlooking the living... and the dead. Full of memories and carvings. Hearts with initials. Some struck out, because love died. My bark would tell a story of love and loss. My branches would reach heaven-ward, in hope. I would stand alone. I would get once soaring kites tangled. They would keep me company.
