Most airlifts out of Afghanistan may have stopped, but thousands of Afghans are fleeing the new regime – an eventual 500,000, it’s estimated. Many of them are taking on a perilous march through the desert to get away, as shown by this video that has surfaced online.

It’s reported that these people are crossing the Pakistan border into Iran, with most expected to make their way to Turkey.

All, of course, with the aid of benevolent people-smugglers who, according to some of the refugees, are keeping the easiest routes for those who can pay the most.
