Komodo is the largest species of the family Varanidae, as well as the largest lizard in the world, with an average length of 2-3 meters and weighing up to 100 kg. Komodo dragons are top predators in their habitat because so far no other large carnivorous animals other than this monitor lizard are known in any geographic area. The Komodo dragon, also known as the Komodo dragon (Varanus komodoensis), is a large lizard species found on the islands of Komodo, Rinca, Flores, Gili Motang, and Gili Dasami in the province of East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. This lizard by the natives of the island of Komodo is also called by the local name ora.
