Carbon dioxide from masks is dangerous for children

This video is to demonstrate the dangerous carbon dioxide levels that are inside the masks of children when they are wearing them. This machine is a industrial grade cO2 reader. The readings were taken when the mask was on and off. Children have to wear masks for 8 hours and the carbon dioxide builds up over time to greater levels.Show more

The test starts with the cO2 reader not hooked up to the student and only reading the air around the outside of the students mask. This is called the ambient parts per million carbon dioxide in the air. It reads approx 540 parts per million (ppm) of carbon dioxide as seen. This is a normal level that is considered safe.

Once the mask is put on the student and the cO2 reader is hooked up to the hose and to the students nostrils the reading jumps up. She breaths out through her nose to get the reading of the carbon dioxide coming out inside of the mask. It goes up to 10,000 ppm in only a few seconds with the mask on. It then shows “over” meaning it has gone past the 10,000 ppm mark in only a few seconds.

The hose is removed from the machine so it can calibrate back to the normal range of approx 500-600 ppm outside of the mask. Then the hose is placed back on the reader while the other end is now under the mask of the student but no longer attached to her nose as she breaths in and out. It then again reads almost immediately over 10,000 ppm of carbon dioxide.

Over the course of 8 hours of wearing a mask the cO2 will continue to build up to dangerous levels when a student is forced to wear a mask in order to attend in person learning in school.

Per OSHA At 15,000 ppm mild respiratory stimulation occurs. At 30,000 ppm moderate respiratory stimulation, increased heart rate and blood pressure. At 40,000 ppm immediately dangerous to life and health. 50,000 ppm strong respiratory stimulation, dizziness, confusion, headache and shortness of breath. And at 80,000 ppm dimmed sight, sweating, tremor, unconsciousness and possible death occur.
