Scarborough Fair ~ Canticle by Simon and Garfunkel

Is there such a thing as Perfection amongst Mankind? Well, if so, then this song is about as close as you can come to it...which is not surprising because Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel created this TUNE in dedication to what it takes to Live within perfection, and that is the Holy Trinity of the Family...Father, Mother and Child...

Scarborough Fair/Canticle, is actually TWO songs combined to make one complex narrative about Duality here upon the Fallen Physical realm of the Mother Earth...this technique is called Counterpoint, and in it, Simon and Garfunkel created their own interpretation of the Classic Folk Ballad of Legend, Scarborough Fair (meaning "a fortified place of man, a gap in a mountain pass, Gap in the Hill), which is a play upon the Ancient Gnosis that the Kingdom of Heaven is found WITHIN us...Simon then took his own composition, The Side of a Hill, written in a similar key to Scarborough Fair, which is a beautiful ode to what is necessary of Man to court the Sacred Feminine, our Virgin Mother Mary...

Thus, what is created is a kind of Call/Response between TWO WORLDS, that which is Loving and Peaceful, filled with Common Sense, and that of Violence, which knows no Purity...only the Insanity of making War upon ourselves...and therefore, this is an ALLEGORY of the Duality between the Ego of the Left Brain, and the Virtue of the Right! Ultimately, this can be seen as a Parable from the Bible of both Casting our Nets to the Right to catch 153 Fish (1+5+3 = 9), or Wisdom, and Taking No Thought for Our Lives, and being part of the 144,000 Children of God, wearing the Mark of God upon their Brows...that of God Consciousness (1+4+4 = 9)...

Thus, in the song, when they ask us the Essential question to Life, "Are we going to Scarborough Fair?" (to God in Heaven, within us), they respond immediately with the Answer or The Way..."Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme", where Parsley represents the removal of Bitterness in our Ways, Sage is Strength thru Wisdom, not Violence, Rosemary is an Existence of Only Love and Life, not Anger and Death, and finally, Thyme, which is having Courage in our Convictions, which represents Authenticity...and ALL of these Virtues, together, is enough to release the Sacred Mother Mary within us, and then the Kundalini uncoils and Rises Up, to Heaven, creating the One, True Family...the Holy Trinity...Father, Mother and Child...
