You cannot afford to make a mistake in identifying your CDL required fleet. Driver violations of the CDL rules will result in extreme fines, costly DOT Compliance Investigations, and Unsatisfactory Safety Rating. All of which will cost thousands of dollars to correct or could even force the company Out-of-Service or Imminent Hazard.

Anyone can look at an 18 wheeler and say that is a "Class A" CDL vehicle and they can also look at a big tandem axle dump truck and say that's a "Class B" CDL required. Even though Class B CDL is the easiest determination of all the Commercial Drivers Licenses.

Many still make mistakes when the vehicles are smaller or closer to that 26,000 pounds or even smaller, but over loaded with a GVW greater than 26,000 pounds.

Also mistakes can be made when these trucks are used to pull smaller trailers. But never fear, I've got the answers right here in this video.

Introducing the CDL Flowchart! This tool will make determining either a Class A, B, or C CDL easy. Better yet you'll be right every time!
