Decoding Steely Dan's Masterpiece ~ Rikki Don't Lose That Number (To God)

This CLASSIC Steely Dan song appears to be, on the surface, a rather easily accessible track, perhaps the band's most direct song of all; however, as with all things Donald Fagen and Walter Becker, it turns out to be a far more complex and deep introspection, with Layers upon Layers that must be Reaped and Harvested over time...

Rikki Don't Lose that Number may appear to be, on one level, a simple "Pop" song that raced up the Charts, yet, in Truth, it is another of their most brilliant and complex songs with some of the most beautiful and important lyrics that Donald and Walter ever wrote...you see...Rikki is NOT a Name, it's the NUMBER for the song, placed there in Plain Sight, but only for those with the EYE to see it...R is 18 (which is 1+8=9), I is 9, and K is the Master Number, which is 11...thus, the song should be entitled, Rikki, Don't Lose your Name, because it is the Number to God...18, 9, 11, 11, 9, or 99-11-11-9, which is pure Divinity...and if there is such a thing as a direct, Physical Hotline, to God, this would be its DIVINE NUMBER...as this Number tells us that God (9) is WITHIN US, located between our Two Temples (11:11)...

18 is the prefix to the "Phone Number", thus, 18 is like 1-800...ask yourselves, when we are dialing FREE Long Distance numbers, why do we always start with 1-800??? In Gematria we do not count the zeroes, thus, 1+8 = 9...Coincidence? God is never so lazy for anything to be Coincidence...thus, Free Long Distance is "Dialing God" thru Meditation...

Thus, the line, "We can go out driving on Slow Hand Row, We could stay inside and play games, I don't know..."

From Sanskrit, Row is to come into pure ALIGNMENT, which is Balance...Game equals from Sanskrit, GAMAN, which means, Holy Communion, two or more coming together as ONE...thus, coming into Alignment with God via MEDITATION...going within to Know God...
