Pre-Treatment of Roads before Snow Lexington, KY

The Streets and Roads Department in Lexington, Kentucky began pre-treating roads with an anti icing chemical solution called brine. This Anti-icing solution involves placing a layer of brine on the surface of the pavement before a winter storm has begun to prevent snow and ice from freezing to the road. Video shows trucks laying the solution on the roadways in Central Kentucky before the snow.
