Mental health is an issue in law enforcement and it will affect the individual officer.

So back on track, what can we do to help, through obviously bringing it to light but also realizing the power of the mind! Stop underestimating the power of the mind.

The mind is so powerful it even affects our body and the body affects the mind. If you eat junk food for days on end and do not exercise, you will not feel motivated and could engage in negative thought patterns.

Please understand that it is ok to feel overwhelmed as long as you do not feel sorry for yourself. It is ok if you find yourself feeling miserable…but what is not ok is if you do nothing about it and slip into malingering unhealthy attitude thus possibly being a risk to yourself and others.

So understand there are ways to get treatment and strategies. But it’s up to you to get these things done before it is too late.
