The Larson Electronics MPD-AG-TC1-200A.MCB-480Y-45KVA-208Y-125A-M2 heavy-duty Portable Power Distribution Station converts three-phase 480V AC electrical current to three-phase 208Y/120V AC. Secured to an AGE trailer, this unit provides operators the ability to safely tap into and distribute 480V AC power from a variety of sources including generators and direct grid power.

Portable Power Distribution Purpose and Use: The MPD-AG-TC1-200A.MCB-480Y-45KVA-208Y-125A-M2 portable power distribution system gives operators the ability to power their 480 volt, 208 volt and 120 volt equipment from a single system. On the primary side, operators bring three-phase 480V line-in power using one six-pole joy plug inlet and can connect to two six-pole joy plugs, one 3771 receptacle, three L16-30R receptacles, one L8-30R receptacle and six L16-20R receptacles for 480V equipment. On the secondary side, operators are provided access to four L6-30R receptacles for 208V equipment, four L5-30R receptacles for 120V equipment and six L5-20R duplex receptacles for 120V equipment. All receptacles are equipped with weatherproof covers.

Operation: One 200-amp 480V six-pole (4 power poles + 2 aux poles) joy plug inlet brings three-phase 480V power to the NEMA 3R 200-amp, three-phase 480V primary main circuit breaker panel, which contains one 60-amp 3-pole 480V breaker as well as two 60-amp 2-pole 480V breakers protecting two 60-amp 480V six-pole (4 power poles + 2 aux poles) joy plugs, one 50-amp 2-pole 480V breaker protecting one 50-amp 480V 3771 receptacle, three 30-amp 3-pole 480V receptacles protecting three 30-amp 480V L16-30R receptacles, one 30-amp 2-pole 480V breaker protecting one 30-amp 480V L8-30R receptacle and six 20-amp 3-pole 480V breakers protecting six 20-amp 480V L16-20R receptacles, and passes power through to the transformer. The NEMA 3R 45 KVA transformer converts 480V power to three-phase 208Y/120V 60Hz and passes the current to the secondary side. The secondary side of the transformer is equipped with a NEMA 3R 125-amp, three-phase 208Y/120V main circuit breaker panel. This secondary panel contains four 30-amp 2-pole 250V breakers protecting four 30-amp 250V L6-30R receptacles, four 30-amp 1-pole 125V breakers protecting four 30-amp 125V L5-30R receptacles and six 20-amp 1-pole 125V GFCI breakers protecting six 20-amp 125V L5-20R duplex receptacles.

Protective Panel Construction: Unlike many portable power distribution stations made of plastic and utilizing thin gauge, low grade metals in their construction, this unit is designed for serious use and is ruggedly constructed to withstand demanding conditions and heavy duty industrial applications. Power components are accessible via hinged doors that wing upwards, which are suitable for use in tight spaces. Din rail mounted breakers are located on the side of the station, while receptacles can be accessed on the other side. The frame can be replaced for an additional cost with stainless steel, hot dip galvanized steel, or aluminum depending on the customer’s needs. Larger units are available upon request and can be equipped with skids or trailer mounted.

Trailer: The transformer and load assembly are mounted on an AGE trailer that is painted Mil-spec green. This trailer is equipped with a folding trailer tongue with a NATO pintle hitch. Side-located troffers are available for holding cables and other equipment during use. This model is equipped with bottom-located skid pockets and 4-corner pick eyes, which allows easy lifting with cable or chain hooks. Heavy-duty wheels enable seamless mobility around the site.

Certification: All units are built in accordance to NFPA 70 (National Electric Code). All equipment is NEMA 3R rated for indoor and outdoor use and provide a degree of protection against dirt, water, and ice. NEMA 4 and NEMA 4X equipment can be equipped upon request.

Grounding: Transformer is grounded to the frame and we provide a grounding lug on the frame for the earth ground.
