The pandemic era has been one of contradictions for the entertainment industry. On the positive side, it has figured out how to continue shooting. On the negative, the irrational exhuberance for the future of streaming has continued to be problematic. Now, the industry is faced with a reckoning on streaming AND on the money that was supposedly coming in from China. How did they get here, and what can be done next?
