The situation in Afghanistan is deteriorating faster than we could have imagined. According to White House plans, the U.S. has one more week to withdraw from Afghanistan. But yesterday an explosion outside the Kabul airport killed and wounded hundreds of people, including U.S. soldiers. A cloud has been cast over whether the ensuing evacuation of civilians will go smoothly.
